Class Feedback for No Apologies Audio (Rough Cut)

This is the feedback for our No Apologies audio and we just wanted to see how the class would react to our vocal and for our feedback on how to improve it and we feel that the feedback given will make our audio that much better and also make the audio sound more professional and become similar to that of a real music audio so that when we make the video the song will not let down the video in terms of quality and this means the song and video will blend and work well together.

Most of the class liked our rough cut and felt that the conventions we followed were similar to those of the original video and that the way we did our audio was very well done. the class did think however, that the quality of our audio was not great they kinda picked up the fact that we did not record this on a microphone and we did not use professional technology to make the track sound even better and we as a group will make sure to work on this for our polished audio.

The class said that we should get a good quality mic and use a mixer as well to make sure the audio will sound a lot better and be as clear as the one portrayed in the original video so as a group we are going to research into music production sites and learn ways in which they make the audio sound clear and try to apply this to our own audio.

the class also felt that the singer was not good enough and lost pitch at some moments in the video and they felt that this let the video down, some suggested that I use a girl instead to do the lyrics and we as a group will consider different options to make the audio sound a lot better.

The class also said that I should have written my own lyrics to the song to make it more original and we shall explore this route to make sure our audio is as good as can be and will also complement the video we are going to do.

My Roles

Director

for me a director is a person who directs the making of a Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision. The director has a key role in choosing the cast members, production design, and the creative aspects of film making.

The film director gives direction to the cast and crew and creates an overall vision through which a film eventually becomes realized. Directors need to be able to mediate differences in creative visions and stay in the boundaries of the film's budget. There are many pathways to becoming a film director. Some film directors started as screenwriters, cinematographers, film editors or actors. Other film directors have attended a film school. Directors use different approaches. Some outline a general plot line and let the actors improvise dialogue, while others control every aspect, and demand that the actors and crew follow instructions precisely. Some directors also write their own screenplays or collaborate on screenplays with long-standing writing partners. Some directors edit or appear in their films, or compose the music score for their films.

I have included pictures of arguably the worlds greatest ever directors in James Cameron and Steven Spielberg.

Producer
Producers fill a variety of roles depending upon the type of producer. Either employed by a production company or independent, producers plan and coordinate various aspects of film production, such as selecting script, coordinating writing, directing and editing, and arranging financing. During the "discovery stage" the producer has to find and acknowledge promising material. Then, unless the film is supposed to be based on an original script, the producer has to find an appropriate screenwriter.

For various reasons, producers cannot always personally supervise all of the production. As such, the main producer will appoint executive producers, line producers or unit production managers who represent the main producer's interests. Among other things, the producer has the last word on whether sounds or music have to be changed or scenes have to be cut and they are in charge of selling the film or arranging distribution rights.

Writer
A Screenwriter’s role in the overall Film-making process is absolutely vital. Because it is in the screenplay that the Film is first born. And once the screenplay is ready, it is the single most important document that forms the basis on which everyone else (the Director, Actors etc.) builds the Film.

This extremely sensitive and complex function can only be executed by someone who is creative, has a complete understanding of the Film-making process and whose sense of aesthetic is firmly placed in the visual medium. It is a discipline that can be self-taught. But it could take years before one learns the skill set effectively and gets a real opportunity to write a screenplay that is Produced and made into a Film. In essence, how to plant a story from the germ of an idea, or a piece of news, to capture the audience in a total way is a skill that can be learnt from mentors, and practice sessions.

Planning- Location Shots

This is Westfield shopping center these our one of the locations that our group is thinking of filming some of the music video in our idea for this location is to show a couple enjoying themselves and going shopping together we feel this is the perfect location for this scene as this mall is very popular and somewhere couples would go to have a romantic date full of shopping and we also picked this location as many of our target audience like this location and we feel like we would be connecting with them if they picked this location. we feel this a good place to film as due to the escalators and elevators being located all around the mall we can film the couple from many different angles meaning our music video doesn't end up being to boring,

This is one of the biggest landmarks in London Big Ben and we wanted to use this location in our movie because we would be able to show how the couple are enjoying the whole day not just by shopping but doing what most people would do when they spend a day in London and visit all of the landmarks. This is also a great location to film because we would be able give the audience a sense of the posh London and the great attractions it possesses.

This is the outside of Wembley Stadium and we picked to use this location because it is the kind of place couples would go to to see the beauty of the stadium and also to show their appreciation for England sports. This would be a good location to film some of our music video as it would show wealth as the song is about love and wealth so filming here would perfectly portray this.

This location the London Eye we feel would be the most romantic of all as the two characters would be able to sit together in the ride and look over a beautiful view together we picked this location as we feel it would show the viewers how much in love the couple are.
This is the inside of Westfields shopping center we have taken this location as we are going to film the couple roaming up and down the shopping center and we are going to take varied angles of the inside.

Planning-Target Audience

Target Audience- 15-24

Why we have chose this as our target audience?
We have decided to pick this age group as our target audience because we feel that the issues and topics we will be representing in our music video will resonate with them and therefore we feel they would be the highest consumers of our product.  The song is also from the show Empire and their target audience is also 16-24 according to their EmpireVevo YouTube channel where in one of their videos they talk about how the film resonates with all ages but they specifically feel it resonates well with the 16-24 age group as they feel the characters in the film connect well with this audience the most. We also picked this as our target audience because the lyrics that will feature in our music video will find a sense of reality with this audience the most but we also hope it resonates with other age groups as well. We also feel because the genre for our music video which is R&B, Rap and Hip Hop we feel that in today’s music industry our target audience craves for this music and they are normally the ones who consume this genre the most.

Why does our film appeal to our target audience?

we feel that our Music Video will appeal to our target audience because not only does our target audience which is the ages of 16-24 love the rap and hip hop genres but they also love the fact that our song is from the Television series Empire and this also means we would be attracting a lot of empire fans who are also around the ages of 16-24 we feel that by picking the song from such a show that has a unique connection with our target audience we would be able to connect with that same audience aswell.

Planning- costume and makeup

In our music video our characters will not be wearing any makeup at all the only make up worn will be during the fight scene where we are going to apply fake blood to the characters so that we can emphasize the brutality of the fight I feel that without the blood the fight will become less realistic. I also feel that while I am applying the blood I have to make sure that the blood is not too much as I feel this will credibility away from the fight I think the pictures give a good  view of what I want to do when applying the blood both characters in the pictures have both been in fights and they have not been given too much blood but just enough so that the viewers are able to tell just how brutal the fight was and the blood makes it seem a lot more realistic to viewers.
